Cradle Community — Brick by Brick comes to Sheffield!

Join Cradle to explore how we build a world without prisons, share skills in abolitionist practices, and connect with other abolitionists.

The event will use Brick by Brick: How We Build A World Without Prisons as a starting point for discussion and feature:

  • An introduction from the authors about Cradle’s work, ongoing abolitionist campaigns, and organising across the UK.

  • Exploration into practices such as bystander intervention, copwatch, and other practical ways to bring abolition into our daily lives.

  • Discussions with the whole group considering ways we can continue to support abolitionist organising and development of transformative projects in Sheffield and the local area.

There is 1 step up into the café space, for which there is a ramp. There is 1 accessible toilet on this floor and 2 more upstairs. The kitchen is not accessible by wheelchair as it's is up 4 or 5 steep narrow stairs.

Please take a Rapid Lateral Flow Covid test prior to entering the event space if possible. We will have a few tests available at the door.

No TERFS, SWERFS, or cops.

Cradle Community is an abolitionist collective of facilitators, organisers and artists based in the UK, making space for curiosity, compassion and creativity. In their mission to build a world with transformative justice responses to violence, they are dedicated to developing the skills we need to support radical approaches to collective care and healing in our communities. Brick by Brick is their first book.
