Rage Teaches: Lessons in Rage

  • Metroland Studios 91 Kilburn Square London, England, NW6 6PS United Kingdom (map)

‘Rage is information. It is clarity. It is a fire that reveals the architecture of what must be undone.’

— Yasmin Alrabiei, ‘The Preliminary Flame Before a Kiss’, in The Hajar Book of Rage

Hajar Press and No More Exclusions are partnering to organise a day-long teach-out all about combatting neutrality and harnessing the revolutionary potential of rage, inspired by extracts from The Hajar Book of Rage, edited by Farhaana Arefin.

Through a series of discursive, creative and rhythmic sessions, we’ll reflect on the political uses of rage.

Session Titles:

1) What Even is Rage?

2) Writing Against Neutrality

3) Make Some Noise

4) More than Just a Kiss: Harnessing the Power of Political Art

This teach-out is primarily for young people, parents/guardians, educators, youth workers, and anyone who has a relationship with young people.

Lunch and childcare will be provided.

Register your interest via this Google form. Successful applicants will be contacted by email.

This teach-out is part of the programming for Hajar’s Year of Rage, a series of events honouring the power and political uses of rage as it Enlivens, Destroys, Teaches, Transforms and Strengthens.
