The Hajar Press Party

  • Cafe OTO 18-22 Ashwin Street London, England, E8 3DL United Kingdom (map)

‘SOMETIMES THE GIRLS WANT TO PUT THEORY DOWN AND DANCE …’

When we launched Hajar in the middle of a lockdown in 2020, we could never have dreamed we’d be here less than three years later. By the end of 2022, we’ll have published ten incredible books, sold through print runs within weeks of publication, hosted events across the country, and shared space with some of the most thoughtful, imaginative and engaged readers around.

To celebrate how far we’ve come, we’re throwing a party for Hajar!

Join us at Cafe OTO in Dalston from 7.30 p.m. on Friday, 30 September for a night of music, readings, laughter and riotous dancing, DJed by the iconic AltBlax. In the words of Lola Olufemi, ‘I don’t care what anyone says, that’s a kind of political work!’

Entry is free and open to all. We can’t wait to see you there.

The Hajar team xx

The venue has step-free access and a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
